Synvisc-One is a single-dose treatment only for injection into the knee, designed to treat osteoarthritis knee pain. The treatment works by restoring the elasticity and viscosity within the joint allowing a more extensive movement of the joint. In addition, Synvisc One supplements the fluid in the knee to help lubricate and cushion the joint. Synvisc-One is indicated for the treatment of pain in osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in patients who have failed to respond adequately to conservative nonpharmacologic therapy and simple analgesics, e.g., acetaminophen.Osteoarthritis treatment that contains hylan, a natural found in the synovial fluid of the joints.
